The Virginia Tech team set four riders off to Colorado in search of a national championship. Ben Warren, John Zaccone, Tim Ciarkowski, and Eoin McDonnell competed in the road race and criterium. Unfortunetly, an early crash in the road race and the altitude got the best of most riders (15 of the top 30 riders in the road race were from Colorado) and it was a tough weekend for everyone. Rock Racing pro Jermey Discoll (Vermont) rode away from the breakaway in the road race to collect the starts and stripes jeresy. In the criterium, Colin Jaskiewicz (Vermont) was able to win the bunch sprint and win it’s team second title.
Tim Ciarkowski finished 65th for both races, John Zaccone was 71st in the criterium, Eoin McDonnell was 70th in the road race and 90th in the crit, and Ben Warren was 89th in the crit.

The Virginia Tech cycling team traveled to the ACC conference championships hosted by Wake Forest and brought home the hardware.
Three individuals earned championship jerseys for being overall season winners. Sara Hanson beat her closest competitor by over 150 points to win the overall category A title outright, while Reid Beloni and Matt Dockins won the Division 1 title in category A and category C, respectivly. Reid was leading by just 3 points going into the weekend and ended up piling up a victory of almost 40 points. This was Matt Dockins first year with the team and took the catagory C title while ending up just 2.5 points from beating every C rider.
The team competition didn’t quite fall into VT’s favor, but they still ended up a solid 2nd place just behind the Naval Academy.
Other notable results from the weekend were the B road race victory of Justin Crawford, criterium win in the A field by Sarah Hanson, Matt Dockin’s win in the C criterium, and a 3rd place result in the A road race by Ben Warren.
