...and more

Welcome to the Virginia Tech Cycling site. We are a club team focused on improving the cycling community in the Blacksburg area and competing in the ACCC.

As the new school year approaches, it’s time once again to get organized and talk about cycling.

The first meeting will be August 31st at 6pm in Room 300 at Squires Student Center.  The meeting will take anywhere between 30-45 minutes and there will be a group going to Moe’s afterward for burritos.

New for 2009!  The membership fee for the VT cycling team will be waived for female cyclists.  By doing this, we hope to encourage more women to ride and race their bikes.

There are already a number of women cyclists that are interested in taking advantage of this offer and the team hopes to field a full woman’s squad this year.

Hello incoming students!  This post will be a step by step instruction guide to joining the Virginia Tech Cycling Team.

We are very excited for the new year and look forward to seeing new faces.

#1)  Join the listserve. Click here to learn how to subscribe.  You’ll need to use your @vt.edu address to sign up.  If you are really having troubles signing up, try again…. but if that doesn’t work, email taciarko@vt.edu and ask to be added.

#2)  Come to the first meeting. The first meeting will be during the second week of school on Monday.  The time and place of the meeting will be sent to the listserve (you remembered to join, right?) closer to the meeting date.  It is there that you’ll learn more about the cycling team and meet the officers.

#3)  Relax. All you need to be doing right now is waiting for that first meeting.  Go for a ride on your bike.  If you don’t have a bike, we’ll have someone you can talk to at the first meeting.
