Captain Loop

This loop illustrates how to cross over Johns Creek Mtn. from the Clover Hollow race course to the Maggie Valley area. The climb is unpaved and quite steep in places, but with some patience it can be ridden with a road bike. It's a slow process and maintaining traction is tough, but you can indeed reach the top without walking a step. After finishing the wild decent down the north side, the pavement resumes and you are in Captain. There's even a white sign to the left describing how Captain got it's name.
