Indian Valley - Parkway

The highlight of this loop is the first leg as you cover the entire 24-mile length of route 787, an isolated road that takes you through the best backwoods country in southern Montgomery County and western Floyd County. About 12 miles out of Christiansburg, you'll ride a brief flat section along the Little River before crossing into Floyd County and starting the gradual, stair-stepped climb up to Indian Valley. The ride hits its highest elevation on the Parkway with some great views to the south-east on a clear day. The final leg from Floyd to Christiansburg is littered with short, super-steep climbs, so be sure to stop in Floyd and put some sugar in your stomach.

* Starts in Christiansburg
